City shoots have an excitement and feel that you can’t get anywhere else. We are lucky enough to have a fantastic downtown area here in Lansing with the beautiful capital building, great little alleys, busy (but not too busy) city streets and a couple of sweet buildings. Working with Sebastian and Jessica was so much fun for me. These two are so laid back, relaxed, in love, and sexy, that they made my job easy. Trust me, if they can handle the freezing weather, crazy wind and their rambunctious dog, the wedding day will be a breeze! Congrats you two, I can’t wait for the wedding!

Many newborns come in to the studio with a beautiful full head of hair, but none compare to the long locks of beautiful baby Claire! She has the longest hair I have ever seen on a little one. It was perfectly puffy on the top of her tiny head, and I am just sure her mom is crazy in love with it! Claire was born on Valentine’s day and weighed in at 7.4 pounds, and 20.25 inches long. Welcome to the world baby girl!

Engagement portraits are so much fun, and I was especially excited for this shoot because we were planning a city shoot at night! We started at a warm, cozy little coffee shop and ended the evening on top of a parking ramp in the freezing cold! For a moment I thought one of my fingers may fall off. Jen and Matt are such a cool and fun couple that we laughed through most of the freezing weather, and loitered at a Jimmy Johns to get warm. Congratulations Jen & Matt! May is just around the corner!

March 2nd I was honored to photograph the adoption ceremony of Aubrielle by her father Evan. I first met this amazing family when Justine was around 32 weeks pregnant with Aubri. Justine and Evan have an amazing story of love, struggle and hardship that reunites with a beautiful, growing family, filled with love. They have brought so much joy to my life, and I am continually inspired by them. What an amazing daddy. Congratulations!!
